Date of Disappearance and Activities

Deborah went into town to meet her dad and partner in a bar they visited often off the Headrow.  Deborah’s father left and Deborah went shortly after. She was thought to be getting the bus back  home to the Holbeck area. After this, Deborah’s movements are unknown and what happened to  her. The police do believe that Deborah was targeted and killed on the night that she disappeared.

After 10 days, a burned body was found dumped at the back of Burnley Park train station. Her body was only identifiable through DNA, but her family did recognise the clothing described by the police and came forward. The body was thought to have been kept in cold storage for a period of days. After identifying Deborah, the police discovered a man was seen dragging a body down Cardigan Lane. This unidentified man told passers-by that his “girlfriend” was drunk. Since then, nobody saw the body being dumped or anyone else suspicious.

Over time, there have been unconfirmed links with Deborah’s murder and the killer John Taylor.  Taylor kept his first victim – Leanne Tiernan – in cold storage. At present, there has been no support or confirmation from the police that Taylor is a viable suspect in this case. Efforts remain ongoing in this area. Craig remains convinced that some of the jewellery later recovered from Taylor’s car belongs to Deborah, but the police have not shown him the pictures – it is only from a description.

Taylor was also known to frequent Big Lil’s, coming in around 5pm when he finished work. The bar is now closed because of violence and issues continuously occurring in the bar.
